I directed the first collaborative festival event between The Old Vic and Ideastap, the arts charity. It was my first foray into the world of festivals. We selected six Creative Directors from a few hundred applicants, from disciplines as varied as wrestling, photographic installation, political drama, and opera, and awarded them a project budget.

I was proud to bring extra sponsorships to the Festival, which ran for two wild weeks in one of the old railway arches by London Bridge, starting my long affair with Network Rail!

“Recalling the orgiastic ritual of Mervyn Peake’s Gormenghast and Maurice Sendak’s In The Night Kitchen, and taking its stylistic cues from the vivid carnality of a Caravaggio, KILN’s work in progress is a brilliant, interactively staged slab of grotesque.” Latest 7
